Challenge the Gap

The second cohort of schools is now embarking on the Challenge Partners' Challenge the Gap Project. This year Dawlish Comunity College are heading up one Hub and Kingsbridge Community College the other.   The project aims to improve the academic performance of disadvantaged pupils through school-to-school learning and collaboration, a whole school approach to tackling gaps and developing the tools, knowledge and support to enable this outcome.  Please contact us for more details.

The Alliance hosted a MIND THE GAP Conference at Buckfast Abbey: keynote speech by Senior HMI Karl Sampson; workshops and sharing good practice across the Alliance.

Our Future Teachers' project aims to identify and promote the teaching profession among our Sixth Formers.  We have held four very successful Conferences in September 2012-2016 attended each year by over 120 students on each occasion from across the Alliance.  Lesson resources have been created introducing students to the professional qualities and skills required in the teaching profession.  These are available via a dropbox link - please contact Victoria Flower (

) for the link.

Watch out for more details of future Conferences and encourage your Sixth Formers to think about a career in teachingContact Victoria Flower if you would like to send a group of Sixth Formers to this!
